Double Entry Doors

Client Priorities
- Keep costs down while solving infiltration issues.
- Maintain the same overall look, with a black exterior and tan interior.
- Use client-supplied locks if possible.
- Air, water, and snow infiltration at entry.
- Bottom of the frame had soft/rotted wood. The operating door slab was delaminating.
- Masonry opening: 82½" × 105"
- Door jamb depth: 10½"
- Full frame tear-out and removal of all job-related debris.
- New double entry on a FrameSaver rot-proof wood frame.
- Exterior jambs and brickmould capped with black trim coil; caulked to brick opening.
- Installed prefinished interior casing.
- Tight, weather-resistant double entry matching the desired look and colors.
- Rot-proof framing and capped exterior for long-term durability.
- Improved comfort and energy performance with insulated doors and Low-E glazing.

- Scope: 187 window units replaced
Client Priorities
- Reduce heating costs with energy-efficient window upgrades
- Preserve the building’s historic character
- Retain the original interior millwork around all window openings
- Original early-1900s wood windows were inefficient, contributing to higher heating costs.
- Prior experience on another building left the owner dissatisfied with boxy, unattractive exterior capping.
- Needed to maintain a tan/beige exterior to match the existing façade. Wanted an interior clean, updated look.
- Historic interior millwork needed to remain untouched and intact.
- Installed ProVia Endure Series premium vinyl double-hung and casement windows.
- Selected a tan exterior / white interior finish with ProVia’s FineLine Weld for a clean, historically appropriate look.
- Designed a custom brickmould bend to soften the exterior profile and avoid the squared-off capping look.
- Preserved historic millwork with outside-in insert installs for double hungs, interior replacement for casements
- Noticeable reduction in heat loss and improved overall energy performance for the building owner.
- Preserved historic aesthetic while providing a more refined exterior look.
